The streaming platform confirmed Wednesday that its breakout drama series has been renewed for a third season, following two seasons of strong viewership and critical praise.
Cast members took to social media to celebrate the news, with the show’s lead actor calling it “the best kind of surprise” in a post that quickly went viral.
Production is expected to begin early next year, with the new season likely to premiere in the platform’s traditionally busy autumn release window.
Industry analysts point to the renewal as further evidence that character-driven dramas continue to outperform flashier, effects-heavy productions in audience retention.
