One of the league’s most successful coaches announced his retirement on Thursday, closing out a twenty-season career that included three championship titles.
In an emotional press conference, he thanked players, staff, and supporters, saying the decision came after months of reflection on what he called “the right time to hand things over.”
Team officials say a search for his successor is already underway, with an announcement expected before the start of next season.
Tributes poured in from former players and rival coaches alike, many crediting him with helping shape the modern era of the sport in the region.
